Windows built for Ferndale's coastal Whatcom climate
Ferndale sits just a few miles from the Strait of Georgia, and that proximity to salt air and steady Pacific Northwest rain is hard on windows. Older aluminum-framed units common in Ferndale's 1970s and 1980s neighborhoods conduct cold straight through the frame, fog up between the panes when the seals fail, and drive up heating bills every winter. When we replace windows in Ferndale, we're usually solving two problems at once: comfort and moisture control.
We fit Ferndale homes with dual- and triple-pane windows carrying low-E coatings and warm-edge spacers, sealed against the wind that rolls in off the water. For homes closer to Cherry Point and Birch Bay Drive, we recommend coastal-grade fiberglass or vinyl frames that won't pit or corrode the way aluminum does near salt air.
