New Windows Without Losing South Bellingham Character
South Bellingham may be the hardest place in Whatcom County to replace windows well. The Victorians and craftsman homes around Fairhaven and up South Hill were built with divided-lite wood sashes that define their whole facade, and swapping them for generic white vinyl flattens a century of character in an afternoon. But the originals are a hundred years old, single-glazed, and facing weather that comes straight off Bellingham Bay. Owners here feel the compromise every winter: keep the charm and pay for it in heat, or lose the charm to stay warm.
Alpine Exteriors exists to remove that trade-off. We install modern dual- and triple-pane windows in profiles, grid patterns and exterior colors that respect what these houses are, from simulated-divided-lite units on a South Hill foursquare to clean casements for the newer homes tucked into Happy Valley. After 25 years in business, matching new performance to old architecture is the part of the trade we are proudest of.
